Youth (Students)

 

As the youth ministry of Yucaipa First Assembly that make up the young people from the English and Spanish ministries we are conducted in English. Martin Hernandez, Jr. is the youth leader.

We meet every other Friday night for our main service and every Wednesday night for teaching.

Our main missions project is “Speed the Light”, helping missionaries in the US and around the world to have transportation (vehicles) and audio visual equipment for ministry.

Mission
The mission of Yucaipa First Assembly’s Youth Ministry is to Win, Build and Send students for the cause of Jesus Christ. This is a biblical mandate.

Win, Build & Send is the three-part CAUSE of the Lord Jesus Christ...it is disciple-making through the power of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus called the first disciples, he said, "Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." (Mt. 4:19, NIV)

  • "[Come] follow me" - WIN, the call to be a follower of Jesus Christ
  • "I will make you" - BUILD, the call to become more like Jesus
  • "fishers of men" - SEND, the call to continue Jesus' mission


Jesus' words in the classic Great Commission passage (Mt. 28:19-20) reflect the same win, build and send call. Jesus' final words in Luke 24:49 and Acts 1:8 declare the empowerment for the call in the promise of the Holy Spirit.


Vision
We believe God is calling for more young disciplined followers of Jesus Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit, anchored in the Word of God, forged in the character of Christ and championing the kingdom of God as lifelong, productive members of the Body and the cause of Christ.

We are equipping the Youth of Yucaipa to CONNECT with

  • Family - key to a lived-out faith
  • Church - key to a perpetuating faiths
  • Christ's cause - key to a meaningful and rewarding faith


We are equipping the Youth of Yucaipa to CONSTRUCT Biblical DISCIPLINES in their lives. Jesus taught that disciples love God first and love others as themselves (Mt. 22:37, 39). We teach five values of Jesus that characterize such love:

  • Pray regularly (in the Spirit)
  • Live the Word
  • Tell the story
  • Serve people
  • Give generously
